Join us for the kickoff of our 2023 Sunday afternoon concert series. Enjoy a delightful chamber music concert by accomplished pianist Mikael Darmanie and violinist Robyn Quinnett in the intimate Ossie Davis Theater. The program will feature works for violin and piano by Bach, Beethoven, Debussy, Ellington, Montgomery and Schubert. 

 

Mikael Darmanie

Playing the role of piano soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral conductor, Mr. Darmanie has performed throughout the United States, Europe, and the Caribbean.

He’s performed at numerous festivals worldwide. As a chamber musician, he won First Prize in the North Carolina MTNA Chamber Music Competition (with the Transverse Trio.) Since his debut as a conductor with the Carolina Chamber Symphony in 2008, he has performed throughout the US.

He is currently a doctoral student at SUNY Stony Brook under the guidance of Gilbert Kalish, where he also instructs undergraduate piano, music history, and coaches chamber music.

 

Robyn Quinnett

Born on the island of Montserrat in the Caribbean, Robyn Quinnett began playing violin at age 8.  She has won several competitions, including the Mariam Hayes Young Artist and Ruth Kern Young Artist’s Concerto competitions.

Ms. Quinnett has performed with the American, Knoxville, Princeton, and New Haven symphony orchestras; the Hudson Valley Philharmonic; the Northeastern Pennsylvania Philharmonic; and the American Ballet Theatre Orchestra.
