Join us for a Mexican jazz concert in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month with Jhoely Garay and friends. Jhoely is a New York-based guitarist, composer, arranger and educator from Mexico City,Mexico, whose music expresses her passion for straight-ahead swing, contemporary jazz, andmusic and rhythms from Latin America.

A recent Master’s degree graduate from Manhattan School of Music, Jhoely has performed at The National Jazz Museum in Harlem, the Public Theater, and the Banff Centre in Canada. In addition to winning a Latin Grammy Cultural Foundation scholarship, Jhoely was named a “Young Creator” by the National Fund for Culture and the Arts in Mexico. A passionate educator, Jhoely teaches at Jazz House Kids New York and 92NY’s music program and has participated in masterclasses in both the US and Mexico.
With her friends, Jhoely will bring a program of her own compositions expressing her love for the music of her native Mexico and Latin America to the New Rochelle Public Library.
