C. Damon Carter's paintings include portraits, landscapes, gardens, and groups of friends, lovers, and animals.  The 75-year-old West Virginian's canvases make use of radiant color schemes, and employ a highly personal world of distorted figuration and symbolism.

Carter holds a doctorate in musical composition from Johns Hopkins University, and has taught at JHU's Peabody Conservatory, and at Brooklyn College.  He currently resides in Hagerstown, Maryland.  Becky and David Starobin, longtime residents of New Rochelle, curate the C. Damon Carter collection (www.CDamonCarter.com)  and also manage the Grammy-winning record label, Bridge Records (www.BridgeRecords.com).  The Starobins exhibit selected Carter paintings at Gallery C. Damon Carter, located at 556 North Avenue in New Rochelle.
