Adapted from a popular novel, the film lovingly portrays the last campaign of a popular Irish-American Boston Mayor. Directed by perhaps the greatest of American directors, starring perhaps the greatest American film actor and a real ensemble of the greatest character actors (some in their last roles).  A film you will treasure. 

New Rochelle Plays Hollywood is a film series presented by the New Rochelle Public Library. Prior to the screening, film aficionado Les Srager will introduce the history of the film and its creative personnel with a discussion period following the screening. The spring 2024 series features films that portray political elections.
