Join us for a thought-provoking conversation with author Fatimah Gilliam, discussing her new book, Race Rules – What Your Black Friend Won’t Tell You. This book is a pragmatic response to this moment in American history – seeking to drive equity and behavioral change while helping people navigate polarizing issues and develop positive relationships across race.
Discussion and audience Q&A moderated by Candace Pinn, President of Westchester Alliance of Black School Educators (WABSE). Attendees are encouraged, but not required, to read Race Rules beforehand to facilitate asking substantive and thoughtful questions about areas where you want guidance.
Books will be available for sale prior to and after the program, and the event will be followed by a book signing.

Fatimah Gilliam, Esq. is an author, lawyer, consultant, public speaker, and entrepreneur whose career combines expertise in the law, diversity, human capital, leadership, stakeholder engagement, and negotiations. She holds a law degree from Columbia Law School, a master in public policy from Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government, and an undergraduate degree from Wellesley College.
Candace Pinn is an independent consultant and retired educator, with 30 years of educational experience and 26 years of service to the New Rochelle community. She is the current President of Westchester Alliance of Black School Educators (WABSE) and has served in this capacity for over 11 years. Candace is a native of Brooklyn N.Y. and holds a BS in General Engineering from Tufts University, a MS in Computer Science from the NYU College of Engineering and an MA in Education from Columbia Teachers College.
