New Rochelle librarian and film historian Chris Poggiali will introduce and discuss two of his favorite unsung westerns from the 1950s in this double feature film series.

BLACK PATCH (1957) starring George Montgomery
Stoic lawman Clay Morgan (prizefighter turned stuntman turned movie star George Montgomery) - nicknamed Black Patch because he lost an eye in the Civil War - must arrest his friend Hank Danner (screenwriter Leo Gordon) for robbery. Danner's wife is Clay's old flame (Diane Brewster), and the townsfolk are all-too willing to believe the worst about the man sworn to protect them.

NO NAME ON THE BULLET (1959) starring Audie Murphy
Notorious contract gunslinger John Gant (Audie Murphy, the most decorated soldier in World War II) shows up in a sleepy Arizona town and refuses to leave. Gant's mere presence makes the townspeople realize that one of them must be marked for death -- but they don't know who the target is.
