Event Details

In this two film series, New Rochelle librarian, author, and film historian Chris Poggiali will introduce and discuss two movies centered around public libraries.

STORM CENTER (1956)

Starring Bette Davis, Brian Keith, Kim Hunter; Directed by Daniel Taradash; 85 minutes

A small town librarian stands up to local pressure to remove a controversial book from the shelves - on principal, not out of sympathy for its perspective. This reflection on the rights and responsibilities of citizens was a timely response to Anti-Communist sentiment in the 1950s.
