2:00 – 3:00 pm

Fifty years after its publication, E.L. Doctorow’s Ragtime remains a groundbreaking portrait of early 20th-century America. To honor the anniversary, his daughter, musician Caroline Doctorow, will present a multimedia program featuring family photos, stories about her father, passages from the novel, and live performances of period-inspired songs. She’ll also explore the novel’s legacy, including its adaptation into the Tony Award–winning Broadway musical.
