The Wiz (1978) - Directed by Sidney Lumet – 134 mins; Starring Diana Ross, Michael Jackson, Richard Pryor

Based on the popular Broadway musical adaptation of The Wizard of Oz, featuring an all-Black cast led by Diana Ross as a Harlem schoolteacher who is spirited off to a fantasy version of New York City where she meets a scarecrow, a tin man and a cowardly lion.
